1. day | ARRIVAL TO ROME (Italy)

Your local guide meets and privately transfers you to your centrally located hotel. ­The rest of your day is at leisure to settle in. Short strolling around town before dinner. Dinner and overnight Rome.

2. day | ROME – Vatican City

Visit to Vatican; St Paul’s cathedral, possible visit to Vatican museums. Created as a result of the Lateran Treaty in 1929 between Pope Pius XI and the Italian government, the Vatican is the world’s smallest independent state. Explore the treasures of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, with its stunning frescoes by Michelangelo. Discover St. Peter’s Basilica, erected over the tomb of the crucified St. Peter, who is thought to be the first pope. On the way back to your hotel, stop briefly to view the fortress of Castel Sant’Angelo, built as the tomb for Emperor Hadrian and his family. We will cross the river Tevere to reach nice piazza Navona and admire the Pantheon. Dinner and overnight Rome.

3. day | ROME – The Eternal City

After breakfast, spend a half-day with your local guide exploring the remnants of Imperial Rome, one of the world’s mightiest empires. Begin at the Flavian Amphitheater, more commonly known as the Colosseum, which once held 50,000 spectators who revelled in public spectacles and gladiatorial contests. Continue to the Roman Forum, containing the tomb of Romulus and walk all the way to Campidoglio to have a splendid view over the ancient Rome and continue strolling to the heart of the modern city to Piazza Venezia. Via del corso with its many shops will take us to the Spanish steps and then we will end our day at Piazza del Popolo.

4. day | ROME  – The Basilicas

After breakfast we are going to explore Christian basilicas. Following the pilgrims paths we are starting with San Giovanni Laterano, will continue to Santa Maria Maggire, and then reach San Pietro in vincoli to enjoy magnificent Michelangello’s work “Moses”.  Then we are going out of the city for San Pietro fuori le mura. The rest of the day is at leisure.

5. day | ROME – SPLIT (flight)

Privately transfer to the airport for your early flight to Split. Upon arrival refreshment and accommodation in hotel in Split or suburb. Guided walking tour of the historical center of Split which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After a brief introduction you will enter to the spectacular Diocletian Palace, visit the well preserved cellars and the famous Cathedral and Jupiter Temple. Dinner and overnight Split.

After breakfast,morning will be reserved for trekking on Marjan hill, rising from the sea on the western end of Riva. During the very pleasant walk you will be awarded with the breathtaking view over the city center on one side and the Split archipelago on another. Or you can visit to Mestrovic gallery. Then free time for lunch in Split. After lunch drive to Trogir – a town museum also included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list – guided walking tour. Overnight Split.

After breakfast day trip to Sibenik; sightseeing of the Cathedral of St. James (protected by UNESCO): the only cathedral in the entire Europe built completely of stone, without the use of mortar and wooden structural elements. Lunch at the family compound. Overnight Split or suburb.

After breakfast day trip to Hvar island which is famous for its endless lavender fields and numerous vineyards.Ffull day excursion around the island including small, picturesque island villages and wine cellars (wine tasting). Visit also Hvar town – a central place on the island which will enchant you with its easygoing atmosphere, grand palaces, churches, monastery and cathedral, charming narrow streets, beautiful seaside promenade and the oldest urban theater in Europe which is still running. Hvar has had a reputation of being a famous tourist resort for a whole century. Back to Split, overnight.

After breakfast drive to Mostar and Medjugrje. Visit to Medugorje – a famous Marian pilgrimage site. We proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site – a fortified town of Počitelj and visit the historical Turkish city of Mostar. Free time for shopping or tasting the authentic Bosnian specialties such as ćevapi, pita or burek. Overnight Mostar/Medugorje.

After breakfast drive to Dubrovnik. Stop in Ston where you can admire a 12 kilometre long wall (the world’s second longest wall after the Wall of China) connects two fortified cities: the first was built in order to protect the salt plants and the second as the salt export harbour. You will also visit the oldest in Europe, the Ston salt plants are still in use, and the salt producing technology has not changed for centuries. Visit to one family owned winery on Pelješac peninsula (lunch). Continue to Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik area.

11. day | DUBROVNIK

Walking tour in a “city museum” protected by UNESCO World Heritage Site, and also called “Pearl of the Adriatic” is surrounded by impressive medieval stone walls and towers.  Dubrovnik is a city of magnificent palaces and impressive walls. Tour starts with the Onofrio’s Fountain to the city Bell Tower, each step along Stradun is a unique experience par excellence. Overnight in Dubrovnik area.

Day trip to Konavle area and Cavtat town. Cavtat is a well-known summer resort which Edward VIIIth and Walace Simpson chose for their honeymoon. Lunch in Konavle in one of the best restaurants of the region, situated by the old mill and a small river Ljuta. Late afternoon back to Dubrovnik. Overnight.

13. day | DUBROVNIK – KOTOR & PERAST (Montenegro) – DUBROVNIK

After breakfast day trip to Montenegro. Panoramic drive along the sea to the town of Kotor and tour of this historical medieval town, declared the UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1979. Visit to a small historical town of Perast and walk around the town. Optional excursion to the Lady of Skrpjel – artificial islet with a church of from the 17th century full of rich artwork heritage from the entire world. Overnight Dubrovnik area.

14. day | DUBROVNIK

Departure from Dubrovnik airport.
